Clausonne Abbey is located in a very mountainous valley, a circus locked by two narrow parades. The first one communicates with the village of Saix through the Gorge gorge. The second connects it to Vitrolles, through the high valley of Peyssiers, which offers for only horizon, the surrounding high ridges. The Plein River is located at the foot of Peyssiers Mountain at the foot of Bali mountain. It reigns in the heart of green pastures, decorated by pine and beech forests, which occupy the base of the surrounding terrain. The Association of Friends of Clausonne Abbey, founded in 1994, organizes, organizes and supervises annual workshops of excavations and consolidations with various partners (Commune du Saix, NFB, General Council, Region, DRAC, DRJS…), with the aim of preserving this cultural heritage, as of the Middle Ages.
