RENCONTRES ALPES EUROPE ASTRONOMIE
These meetings are initiated by the Astro Club of France and the Charles Fehrenbach Observatory, in partnership with the village of Clamensane, the tourist office of the Highlands of Provence and the camping of the Clot of Jay. Located about 17 km northeast of Sisteron, the Campsite of the Clot du Jay has a high-quality sky, all the better protected from light pollution that its lighting passes red during the week of meetings, and the municipality of Clamensane is shutting down its public lighting from 11:00 p. m. For a week, the celebration program is rich, with a very eclectic cycle of conferences (the solar system, astronomical optics, aurora borealis, etc.), very interesting workshops (introduction to the astronomical drawing for example), and the unavoidable observations of the sky through large diameter telescopes. Those who wish to stay on the site have an interest in staying in the campsite, especially as a preferential rate is granted.
