The Chemin de Fer de la Vendée, the last branch line built in the Vendée, is located at Mortagne-sur-Sèvre.
Inaugurated in 1914, this was the last secondary line built in the Vendée. From Mortagne-sur-Sèvre to Les Herbiers, 22 km of a picturesque line and 3 valleys crossed on magnificent viaducts. All the journeys (2h30), are commented. An authentic restaurant car of the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits, which has travelled all over Europe with the most prestigious trains of the Grand Expresses, brings back to life this true myth of the art of living for lunch or dinner.

Balade originale et rigolote d'environ 2h30 (1h aller 30 mins de pause aux herbiers ou lon peut se restaurer et 1h retour). Les paysages ne sont pas exceptionnels tout le long c'est surtout lorsque l'on passe sur les ponts. Mais c'est très rigolo de voir à quoi ressemblaient les voyages en train il y à longtemps. Entre les ressors dans le dos et l'odeur du charbon. A faire pour l'originalité.

Une autre façon de découvrir les charmes du bocage vendéen. Paysages magnifiques durant le parcours. Les wagons sont très bien restaurés et le charme des voyages d'antan est au rendez-vous.
