The traces of history are numerous on the country of Montaigu. The most imposing heritage, the castle (12th-15th century) and especially its ramparts. But it is not the only vestige that conceals the small city overhanging the river Maine. Thus, on the Place de la Mairie, you will be able to observe the Portal of the Saint-Léonard chapel (1215) and the Pavillon des Nourrices (1640). Rue de Tiffauges, you will find the Collegiate Church of Saint-Maurice (1613). Don't miss the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, the Maison de Maître and the old post house in Henri Joyau Park.
