Read moreAlso owners of the Vrignaud liqueurs, the Mourat vineyards are on the hillsides overlooking the Lay valley. The whole vineyard is in organic culture (of which a part in conversion). One of the largest protected wine territories. The main grape varieties for the whites are Chenin and Chardonnay, and for the reds, Negrette, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. Among the vintages: Château Marie du Fou, Collection, O.V.N.I, Clos Saint-André, Moulin Blanc, and a traditional method 13.36. To be tasted at the medieval cellar at the foot of the castle and at the estate.
LIQUEURS VRIGNAUD
Read moreFounded in Luçon in 1812 by Henri-Aimé Vrignaud, the Vrignaud Distillery was awarded a gold medal for its liqueurs at the 1889 Paris Universal Exhibition. It was bought by the Domaine Mourat. It has known how to cross the centuries by elaborating products reflecting their times. Thus, alongside the kamok (coffee liqueur) and the Trouspinette, flagship products, there are products with more contemporary recipes, always with creativity as a guiding principle: Rhum Café, Mentilla, Pastis de Vendée, Liqueur des Chouans, Délice de caramel.

Depending on the season, you'll find garlic, green beans, tomatoes, eggplants, zucchinis, peppers and Chinese cabbage. Fruit includes plums and figs. Also on sale in the boutique are the "well-being" products of Eva, his wife, who produces dried flowers in hydrolats, macerates, syrups and jams. She also produces organic CBD hemp, available as flowers, oil and, soon, herbal tea.
