SAINTE-RADEGONDE CHURCH
Dedicated to Sainte Radegonde, Queen of the Francs after his marriage with Clotaire 1 st, this church recalls the exodus to Jard-sur-Mer of Sainte-Croix-de-Poitiers, fleeing in 732 the advance of the armies sarrasines and taking with them the relics of Saint Radegonde itself. Richard's Heart of Lion, King of England and Count of the Poitou, was the Romanesque edifice completed in 1198.
