Every summer, the lake of Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave comes back to life. The banks are lined with walkers, camping holidaymakers and children in discovery classes. Swimming is unfortunately forbidden but the leisure centre offers pedal boats, windsurfers, optimists and canoes for hire to explore the 400 hectares of this stretch of water. The only advice is to stay away from the islands, which are home to many species of birds.
