This unique, listed site of incomparable historical and geological significance offers guided walks.

This unique, listed site, with its incomparable historical and geological significance, offers guided hikes. It is also recognized as the largest cave in Europe. A shelter, a burial ground for prehistoric man, a sacred Cathar site, a Protestant refuge, a hideout for brigands, a mystical place... It has always fascinated mankind, who has left us traces, thousands of signatures, including that of a French king, enigmatic symbols and legends dating back thousands of years. In particular, we'll discover the signature of the future King Henri IV, whose reasons for coming to Lombrives are incredible. Admire the tomb of Princess Pyrene, which the ancient Greeks believed marked the genesis of the Pyrenees. The network is immense, not just a simple natural cave, but a series of caves to be explored through a host of different and remarkable chambers. Each new turn is a source of wonder. In the exceptional Galerie de la Carène, you can plunge into a seismic fault and admire its extraordinary aesthetics over a distance of almost 80 metres. La Cathédrale is a hall with a ceiling height of over 80 metres, and exceptional acoustics. Concerts are held here all year round. Of particular note are the beautiful concretions, including the Mammoth and the Witch. Situated between Foix and Andorra, the cave offers a wide range of activities: guided hikes, speleological tours, children's workshops, aperitif concerts...
