Historic center housing objects found during the excavation campaigns carried out on the site of the medieval castle of Montaillou.

Inaugurated in August 2021, this historic center is the fruit of 20 years of work, research and excavations around the medieval castle. Medievalist Jean Duvernoy is renowned for his transcriptions of the inquisition registers, which have helped us to understand life in Montaillou in the Middle Ages. The center presents an easy-to-understand and highly interesting summary. Montaillou owes much to the famous historian Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie and his book "Montaillou, village occitan"
