Saint-Hydulphe de Moyenmoutier Abbey is part of the Abbeys country with Étival and Senones
The Saint-Hydulphe Abbey of Moyenmoutier was an abbey of Saint Benedict, located in Moyenmoutier, which housed up to 300 religious people. It was founded in the year 671 by Saint Hydulphe, Chbishop of Tribes, which he left to retire in the solitude of the Vosges and live there in ermite. This abbey was submitted from the beginning to the kings of Austrasia and then to Emperor Charlemagne and his successors. Subsequently, the duke of Lorraine exercised regal rights under the emperors' authority there. The Abbey is part of the Abbey country with Étival and Senones.
