Stele in memory of the 5 airmen who were killed aboard a French military aircraft that went down in flames on July 2, 1937.
On July 2, 1937, a French military aircraft went down in flames outside the village of Turquestein-Blancrupt, in the Sarre Blanche valley. On board were the five occupants of the aircraft, five airmen from the 33rd Reconnaissance Wing. All five were killed in the crash of their Potez 540. The aircraft was a reconnaissance plane based at Essy-lès-Nancy. A stele has been erected in their memory, on the side of the road leading to the Donon.
