National necropolis located in an open field, containing the bodies of 466 French citizens, 390 of whom were buried in two ossuaries.
The commune is home to a military cemetery of sad memory. This NATIONAL NÉCROPOLE in an open field contains the bodies of 466 French soldiers, 390 of whom are buried in two ossuaries. Following the Battle of Sarrebourg (August 1914), this cemetery was set up by the German army to group together the remains of soldiers killed in the area. In 1924, under the supervision of the French burial services, new bodies of deceased soldiers from several infantry regiments were transferred here.
