ECOLE RÉGIONALE DE LA 2E CHANCE DU GARD
Opened in 2008 in Nîmes, the regional school for the 2nd chance put on a new approach to teaching. One foot in active life, the other at school, student trainees - one-hundred registered per class - were previously remote from the school system. They will again have the opportunity to follow a cycle of lessons and practical work, out of traditional schemes, while doing, alternately, the learning of active life. Over one year, individual education aims to re-learn to read, write, count, and give the concepts of computers, a foreign language, reading the press. This basic instruction includes immersion in the workplace, but also a reminder of certain codes of citizenship, the taste of culture, reading. A very interesting pilot experience funded mainly by the regional council.
