LE ROYAL COTEAU
It was in the commune of Grauves (of the grave Latin, "stone") that the Royal Coteau was created in 1948. This co-operative now comprises 200 producers and represents 60 hectares of vines. A wide range is proposed by the cellar:
Gross tradition: 50% chardonnay, 30% pinot noir, 20% Pinot meunier, a symbol of the house. Quoted in Gilbert and Gaillard Guide 2008 and 2009.
White White: aged over 5 years in cellars dug in the chalk, a 100% chardonnay with citrus aromas and notes notes and juicy fishing. Quoted in Gilbert and Gaillard Guide 2009 and Guide Hachette 2010.
Rosé: (20% of the local red wine, 40% of Chardonnay, 20% of Pinot Noir and 20% of Pinot meunier), a rosé wine in the bouquet of aromas of red fruit, strawberry and raspberry. Selection Guide Hachette 2014.
Great Cuvée: 60% of Chardonnay, 20% of Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot meunier, a selection of the best grapes in the area. Quoted in the Gilbert and Gaillard Guide 2009.
Gross Vintage 2005: from the best vintages of the harvest 2005, a Raw Vintage of 50% Chardonnay, 50% of Pinot Noir, of a great freshness despite many years in the cellar.
Old Vineyards Vintage 2005: born exclusively of chardonnay vines beyond 40 years on the land of Grauves classified 1 st Cru, a vintage of great finesse will accompany on great occasions. Cuvée taken to 4 300 bottles.
Bravo.
