Tabletier is an art profession that requires great dexterity since it consists of making small objects from noble and precious materials (formerly, they made writing tablets). Almost exclusively for luxury now, there are still passionate people who perpetuate tradition with passion. Near the medieval castle of Ville-sur-Saulx, Éric Henry performs this profession by working rare timber in his studio and making high quality pieces. The technique consists in assembling and adjusting small pieces of wood between them. Each box, table in relief, letter, jewelry, incrusted ball pen or keyring is unique: a piece is worked handcrafted for hours and is never reproduced, making it a rare and singular object. Visits by groups of ten people are organized to attend a presentation of the profession of art, the workshop and the wide range of essences, some of which are little known.
