A 400 m² railway station, destroyed in 2013, is now an unalterable memory with no extra-mural or intra-mural indications.
In 2013, Serge Klarsfeld learned that the SNCF wanted to demolish the Pithiviers train station, which had been disused for 50 years. The famous advocate of the Jewish cause stubbornly undertook to preserve this place of memory. For it was here, between 1941 and 1943, that 8,100 Jews, including thousands of children, were deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp for direct extermination. Over 400m2, an unalterable memory now lives on, one that cannot be forgotten.
