ASSOCIATION DU MARATHON D'AZAY-LE-RIDEAU
Azay-le-Rideau is a charming town in the Touraine region of France. Every year, the Association du Marathon d'Azay-le-Rideau organizes a major sporting event for running enthusiasts. The marathon, covering a distance of 42.195 km, offers runners a unique opportunity to visit the region's famous châteaux while running. The course crosses the banks of the Loire and Indre rivers and vineyards, offering magnificent scenery. For those who prefer a shorter distance, there's the Vieux Chêne half-marathon, which largely follows the marathon route. And for a more fun experience, there's the 10.7 km "Pomme-Poire" race through vineyards and orchards. The event is also known for its friendly atmosphere, with masquerade costume, tastings and entertainment. The marathon is a qualifier for the French championship and takes place on a UNESCO World Heritage site. Entries can be made online or on site, and participants receive T-shirts, medals and bottles of wine as rewards.
