COLLEGIALE SAINT-SYLVAIN
The Collegial city of Levroux, classified as a historic monument in 1840, is one of the most beautiful of the Lower-Berry. Its dimensions are impressive: 55 meters long on 12 meters wide and 18 meters high under vault. Affirming a style of angevine influence, she sets his three towers and reveals the richness of his mutilated sculptures in the sixteenth century.
The south portal for the entrance of lepers with a set of 21 figures and the western portal where the last judgment is represented and a second together with Christ surrounded by Marie and Jean, two angels and eleven apostles must be admired outside. Inside, it is a magnificent Gothic nef, six-part vaults of Angevine inspiration and an abside to ten warheads, four of which end with columns and columns of Corinthian type. Statues of quality in polychrome wood, Saint Trinity - sixteenth century - and Saint Jacques - late sixteenth century - paintings of Saint Crépin and Saint Crépinian of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. A very interesting furniture with all 52 stalals with vices and virtues.
