A fabulous adventure through this museum designed directly on a district of the Gallo-Roman city of Argentomagus. Very modern and using the latest museographic technologies, the exhibition spaces take you on a gentle slope from the prehistoric sites of the Creuse valley to the remains of Argentomagus. Life-size reconstructions, films, videos, audiovisual animations and models punctuate the highly educational visit.

The Argentomagus Museum and Archaeological Site is located in Saint-Marcel. This museum takes you on a thematic journey back in time to the Gallo-Roman period. Designed by scientists and educators, it presents concepts that are understandable and intelligible. Guided tours are offered to explore the museum's collection of sculptures, coins, ceramics, glassware, tableware, metalwork and everyday objects from the period. Films, videos, audiovisual animations and scale models punctuate the visit, to help visitors better understand the facts. Continuous spiral ramps allow visitors to move around the museum, making the experience even more exciting. While you're there, don't miss the museum's garden, home to various types of plants: aromatic, ornamental, medicinal and melliferous. A great address for a stimulating experience!
