After freeing themselves from the domination of Christianity, and after surviving the elimination of their identity, the Marquisans sought to distinguish themselves from Tahitian influence by returning to their roots. Born in 1987 in Ua Pou, the Mata'vaa is gaining in scope, quality and richness with each edition.
