Les alchimistes had a brilliant and simple idea: to collect food waste from professionals and local authorities and turn it into organic compost. Present throughout Provence, Les Alchimistes stand out from the crowd by helping local authorities to develop sorting and composting programs, and by running workshops to raise awareness of the importance of sorting and composting. The real advantage of this approach is the short circuit, since everything from waste collection to composting is very local.

Throwing away a cigarette butt is one of the worst things you can do! Things are changing in Marseille, that's a fact. In a city that is considered irresponsible on many levels, citizen mobilization is there to change the situation. Created in 2015, the City of Agriculture is part of this line. Recyclo1000 is a charitable association based in Fuveau, in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of France. The association's aim is to collect, recycle and raise public awareness of the fight against waste and the protection of resources. The premises offer two areas: a "donnerie solidaire" where people can drop off or pick up items in good condition, and a food area where unsold goods from partner retailers are shared, as well as group orders for organic produce. Recyclo1000 also organizes events and workshops to raise public awareness of its values of sharing and anti-waste. The association is authorized to provide food aid to the most disadvantaged and is a partner of the Banque Alimentaire des Bouches-du-Rhône. Since its creation in 2015, Recyclo1000 has collected a total of 220 tons of material.
