In December, it has become an institution when the whole city is transformed into a huge stage for street performances. It's a magical moment for young and old alike, and has supplanted the Avignon festivities. And that's saying something! A wonderful blend of tradition and enchantment. The Christmas market is criss-crossed by street performances. The opening and closing festivities take the form of enchanted parades. As you stroll through the illuminated town, you'll also discover the huge LED Christmas tree in Place du Général-de-Gaulle and many other illuminated decorations dotted around the streets.

This is known as the music school in tribute to Jean Simon, a violinist who has been sung and who has founded the Symphony Orchestra of Carpentras in the thirties. As for his many works, they are kept at the Inguimbertine library.

For those who have already decided, this is a fabulous family walk, where you can take the time to discover nature while getting some exercise. Since summer 2002, 130 km (Forcalquier, Manosque, Lourmarin, Cavaillon section) have been added to the existing 105 km (Cavaillon to Forcalquier, via Apt), for a total loop of 236 km. If you don't want to pedal all that, there are already many sections to enjoy. For example, a 22 km greenway that passes through Apt, or "le pays d'Aigues à vélo", a beautiful 91 km circuit, soon to be marked out.

But if you opt for the 236 km loop, you can start from wherever you want, and will not necessarily need a map. Indeed, to facilitate your orientation, the loop is marked out in both directions. But don't forget to bring sun cream, sunglasses, a cap and a bottle of water! The stages are punctuated by perched villages, Provençal landscapes, bories, lavender with stops for tasting local products, this 5 to 7 day route guarantees pleasure and discovery!

There are many walks in the vicinity of Sisteron. The "botanical trail of Molard" is one of them, which we highly recommend for its accessibility, its natural beauty and its fun aspect. It lasts about two and a half to three hours and is easy to walk with its red and white GR6 markings, as well as ONF markings. Along the way, you will discover 7 stations presenting the forest environment and its species.

You will thus walk through the Molard massif, whose forest covers 25 ha spread out from 500 m to 748 m of altitude. Located at the gates of Sisteron, which it dominates with its presence, it is its garden, its green lung. It represents a remarkable example of regeneration of the vegetation and protection of the environment. Take the botanical path called "montée du Molard" on the edge of the Sisteron municipal forest. Follow it to the end. Turn right onto the Cedar Tourist Trail. After four hairpin bends and a power line, go left towards the Molard ridge. Continue on the slope of this ridge until you reach the orientation table which allows you to observe the whole of the Sisters' country. You will find a small refuge nearby. Do not go down towards Sisteron via Combes, but continue on the ridge. At the crossroads, at the level of the high voltage pylon, continue straight on towards the highest point of Molard. Go back down to Sisteron either by the path you took or by Les Combes.

What's more, a donkey farmer offers educational activities to raise awareness of the mountain environment and the presence of donkeys.

What if you started windsurfing or foiling in Hyères? Here is a windsurf, windfoil and wingfoil school to start or improve your skills in the world famous spot of Almanarre. You can also rent paddles, kayaks, catamarans, optimits & mountain bikes or ebikes. On the spot a restaurant with a sea view overlooks the nautical base. Surfing enthusiasts can eat, relax or even take a dip. Possibility to stay at the International Camping at 50 m.

Formed nearly 40 million years ago, the sandstones of Annot arouse for various reasons a growing interest on the part of sportsmen admiring this unique geological manifestation in the region. The grandiose aspect of these cliffs dominating the village leaves no one unmoved... The sandstone benches can reach 250 metres in thickness! For walkers, take the marked path and discover these unusual rocks and the flora that surrounds them. As for the climbers, they will find nearly 150 equipped routes.

Christophe Roussel, in a workshop on the rue Breteils, put his experience to profit by sharing his passion: it offers catering courses, furniture processing, foil and patina. You are free to follow the courses at your rate. His teaching spans three years. First of all, you will discover the different products and their utility, leaf foil, different wood and different French styles. In the second year, it is the turn to learn the patina and method of céruse while visiting museums. Finally, for the last year, you will do what you want under the master's leadership. This club, set up in the heart of the Maures massif in 2003, under the direction of Séverine Pellerin, a state-qualified teacher with a passion for horses and equestrian sports, offers leisure or sports riding, pony and horse riding activities, competition outings, advanced training courses during all school holidays, federal exams and summer camps. The Fédération Départementale des Chasseurs des Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, based in Digne-les-Bains, is responsible for managing hunting in the département. The Ministerial committee is the decentralized organisation of the French mountain federation and climbing for Bouches-du-Rhône. There is a myriad of clubs and sites in our region to practise safely. The committee also intervenes in various actions, such as a partnership with the second chance school in Marseille, or that with the hospital Edouard Toulouse. Founded in 1962, the CCA has seen many prestigious competitions and renowned players come and go. In May 2014, the first edition of the Pays d'Aix Open took place under the direction of Arnaud Clément. A very promising first edition... With 850 members and 18 courts, the Country Club organizes numerous tournaments. The tennis school offers courses and workshops for a host of budding champions. The tennis club has numerous courts: clay, hard or covered, there's something for everyone. There's a quick-stringing service, a pro store, a friendly clubhouse and Les Loges restaurant. So, in summer, you can dine by the pool in a calm, leafy setting.

Lanes, monkey bridges, zip lines and footbridges are a delight for young and old alike, supervised by a young, dynamic team. No physical predisposition is required, just an introductory course (approx. 10 min.). The courses have several levels, 6 of which are accessible to children, including the "spider net". Younger children, aged 2 and over, can try their hand at the "Feather" course. A continuous lifeline, accessible to all, allows you to move around the courses without ever being unhooked.

The Comité Départemental d'Équitation des Hautes-Alpes is an organization dedicated to horse riding in the Hautes-Alpes département. Chaired by Gérard NICOLAS, the CDE offers a range of riding-related activities and services.

With almost 840 km of signposted bridle paths, riders will have plenty of opportunities to explore the region on horseback. The département also boasts 6 approved equestrian tourism centers, offering a wide choice of accommodation for trail riders. This venerable university club was created in 1955 under the name of AUC, Aix Université Club.
