In Cagliari, taxis are white. The Rossoblu company is distinguished by a blue and red band on the doors of its vehicles. The fare conditions are the same as those of the Quattro Mori company. There is also a surcharge for every 5 minutes between the time you call the company and the time you are picked up by the taxi at your address. The company provides long-distance journeys at fixed rates.

Cagliari has two metro lines. Line 1 leaves from Piazza della Repubblica in the centre of the city to Monserrato University Hospital in the north. Line 2 connects San Gottardo in the north of the city to the suburbs of Selargius and Settimo San Pietro. The metro runs daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a frequency of 10 minutes (20 minutes on Sundays and holidays). The metro inaugurated in 2008 uses old railway tracks. An extension project from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Matteoti is under way.
