Line 2 connects San Gottardo in the north of the city to the suburbs of Selargius and Settimo San Pietro. The metro runs daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a frequency of 10 minutes (20 minutes on Sundays and holidays). The metro inaugurated in 2008 uses old railway tracks. An extension project from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Matteoti is under way.
