The King Arthur festival welcomed this year 50 000 festival-goers over 3 days from August 26 to 28, 2022. The festival of Legends in the Land of Legends (located exactly in Bréal-sous-Montfort, southwest of Rennes) exists since 2008. This year, after 2 years without a festival, the joy of meeting again was palpable. The organizers took the opportunity to add some novelties: a more elaborate decor and an alternative entertainment space - the Kouign Zone. Here is a look back at the weekend of this 11th edition.

Highlights of the festival

Friday, the temperatures are summery when the first festival-goers arrive on the Mafeu site. The groups are very eclectic. The warm and bewitching voice of Selah Sue coupled with the soul and R&B rhythms bewitches an already conquered public. Ultra Vomit, the heavy metal band from Nantes has its fans in the audience, easily recognizable. But their ability to communicate with the audience and to draw them into their ranting, has won them a strong following well beyond their musical style. Damso, the highly anticipated Belgian rapper, set the audience on fire especially during his featuring with Angèle (Démons) and Aya Nakamura (Dégaine). Paul Kalkbrenner, the German DJ is also part of the expected headliners and puts the public in trance with an incredible show.

Saturday, change of register with Véronique Samson, icon of the French variety who enchants his public with the title "Drôle de vie". Still from the French scene but with a decidedly more groovy style, the group from Aix-en-Provence, Deluxe spreads an electrifying energy on the Excalibur stage notably with their anthem to the moustache.

On Sunday, Gauvain Sers attracts a very family audience who know the words of his songs by heart. Suzane, joins the Excalibur stage that she inhabits with her flow and her committed lyrics during one hour of stage performance. Feu ! Chatterton and the bewitching voice of Arthur Teboul bring a wind of poetry on the plain of Mafeu, creating a beautiful moment of symbiosis. The festival ends with PNL, the rap group phenomenon that recorded a record of 9 diamond singles
