Every 11th of November, most Slovenian towns and villages celebrate the transformation of mošt (must) into wine. Popular celebrations take place all over the country: Nova Gorica, Ljubljana, Ptuj, etc. But it is above all in Maribor that the atmosphere is exceptional with the solemn baptism of the new wine by the town's edifice. The locals gather to share a glass of friendship, local gastronomic specialities, in front of concerts organised for the occasion.
