Every summer, in June, the city of Epidauros takes advantage of splendid theatres to organize an internationally renowned festival.

Famous throughout Greece, the city of Epidaurus takes advantage of its splendid theater every summer to organize a festival that attracts thousands of spectators with an international and demanding program. The theater also traditionally programs plays by Sophocles, Euripides, Aeschylus or Aristophanes, as well as numerous concerts in the extraordinary acoustics of the place. The ancient theater filters the low frequencies of the background noise. In 2022, tributes to the composer Mikis Theodorakis, who died in 2021, have been scheduled.
