George F. L. Charles Airport is located between the green hills and golden sands of Vigie Beach, just 3.7 kilometers north of St. Lucia's capital, Castries. It is a convenient, small-scale facility that handles only regional flights between the various Caribbean islands; it is also an air cargo hub. The companies that transit through it are: LIAT, Air Caraïbes, Air Antilles and Caribbean Airlines.

It is one of two airports in Saint Lucia, located an hour's drive from Castries and 3.7 km from Vieux-Fort. This important air cargo hub handles mainly long distance international flights between the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany.

It offers all kinds of airport services: restaurants, stores, bank, cabs, car rental services, travel agencies, a parking service and a VIP lounge.
