JOUR DE DEUIL

This day commemorates the assissant of Sheikh Mujib Rahman and his family, which took place on August 15, 1975. It became a public holiday in 1996, when the Awami League led by the daughter of Mujib came to power. In 2002, the BNP cancelled the unemployment of this day. Since 2007, flags have been half-masting on public buildings and the Head of Government has been a public tribute to the father of the nation.
