A cultural festival in the Gorgol region of southern Mauritania to recognize the historic town of Djeol.

In the Gorgol region, in mid-March, a cultural festival is held in Djeol. The second edition was held in 2022. This event is considered a first step towards official recognition of the historical importance of this little-known town in southern Mauritania, whose region is crossed by a tributary of the Senegal River. Djeol is also home to an ancient blacksmith shop, discovered in September 2016, with the festival highlighting it.
