An event immersed in the heart of the country's ancient cities, listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. A week of festivities!

Ouadâne is part, with Oualata, Tichitt and Chinguetti, of the 4 caravan cities classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, hosting since 2011 the Festival of Heritage Cities. Handicraft exhibitions, conferences, camel races make up this week-long festival, which attracts visitors from beyond Mauritania: it welcomes people from Timbuktu (Mali), Agadez (Niger) and Tamanrasset (Algeria). After Ouadâne and Tichitt, the 2023 edition will be held in Oualata.
