HAFERLAND

Launched in 2012, the festival aims to promote Saxon culture and traditions. It is the main event of its kind in Transylvania. It takes place over a week in August, in several Saxon villages located between Rupea and Sighișoara, a region called Țara Ovăzului ("the land of oats", Haferland in German). On the program: masses and concerts in fortified churches, photo exhibitions, screenings, traditional dance and music, Saxon cuisine, craft workshops... An ideal time to discover these beautiful villages and their rich heritage.
