We have to stop at Lake Inle in September, at the festival of Phaung Daw U. The lake is then the scene of dramatic scenes that attract crowds from all over Burma. Boats transformed for the occasion in karaweik, the mythical bird, cross its waters. The famous "leg" riders gather into an amazing procession. Show assured! The Orchids and Flowers Fair also takes place at this time in the small town of Shwenyaung near Lake Inle.
