INDEPENDENCE DAY

In 1970, the authorities set up a system of rotating festivals. Originally, they consisted in organizing a military and civilian parade in each province in turn. Once the nine provinces were celebrated, the principle was interrupted to resume in 2002... to be stopped again. Since 2017, the 9 provinces have their own festival, which takes place about 10 days before Independence Day. On Independence Day, Libreville is in celebration, with a military parade, concerts and fireworks.
