Cosmébio is the French association of organic cosmetics. Created in 2002, the Cosmébio Charter was its first realization, followed by the technical specifications with the help of Ecocert and Bureau Veritas. The Cosmos specifications serve as a reference for Cosmébio labelled products. The Cosmébio label is currently available in three variants depending on the type of product that carries it: the initial green Cosmébio logo which indicates that the cosmetic is organic according to the 1st specification created by the association. A blue logo with Cosmos Natural that certifies that the cosmetic is ultimately composed of a minimum of 95% natural ingredients. And the third, which completes the first with the addition of "Cosmos Organic" and certifies, at the same time, a minimum of 95% natural ingredients, a minimum of 95% organic ingredients on all ingredients that can be organic and a minimum of 20% organic ingredients on the total product.
The association now has more than 400 members in France and abroad, including 450 brands and a selection of 9,000 products. There is no online sale on its site, but valuable and up-to-date information about a booming market where it is sometimes very difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.
