In 2012, the presidents of the two federations, Gérard Masson (Handisport) and Jean-Louis Blanchard (FFESSM), signed a national agreement to facilitate and promote diving for persons with disabilities. From an administrative point of view, it accompanies and simplifies memberships and licensing functions. In practice, FFESSM has established, since September 2012, handisub qualifications for practitioners and supervisors.
