Euro 2016 is fast approaching and you already have your tickets at the stadium to see the most prestigious European football competition. But you still don't know where to sleep and hotel prices are going through the roof... So how do you avoid ending up on the straw because of the football? Why don't you try the rental? Here are 5 good reasons to let yourself be tempted

Low prices

It is well known that during periods of peak tourist numbers, hoteliers rub their hands together to pluck the feathers of holidaymakers by raising prices, often for more than reason. The greater the demand, the emptier your wallet becomes. "Business is business"... But if you can save some money it's still better, right?

The ideal solution to stay within your budget is really renting an apartment or a house of your own because the prices are much lower than a hotel room. Several sites offer seasonal vacation rentals, some are more serious than others ... For testing it, we recommend Abritel - HomeAway.

This is simply because the offer is much larger and you don't pay for all the services of the hotel (reception, baggage handlers, etc.).

On the other hand, if you go with friends, they will contribute to the accommodation costs and it will cost you even less!

The conviviality of an apartment

You are free to invite friends to spend some time in the accommodation you have rented to have an aperitif or celebrate the after-match.

No suspicious receptionist to be avoided to encrust a last minute guest in your room... You are free as air and have no accountability to anyone. And you'll avoid paying the extra charge for an extra person (which hotels love to charge you for whenever the opportunity arises). Let's get this party started!

Walking to the stadium

If you want to save money by going to a hotel, you'll have to go to a hotel far from the stadium as it will be the cheapest... So you'll have to plan for extra gas and traffic jams in perspective. All in all, it will be anything but fun, and what a shame to spoil such a beautiful football party that has just arrived!

On the other hand, if you book an apartment, you will have the possibility to find one not too far from the stadium (by booking a little early) and you can even go there on foot. The dream!

A home, a real

If you want a really cheap hotel during the euro, you will have to put aside your desires of standing and comfort... In the low price establishments, the pleasure option often takes second place. So chances are you'll find yourself in a room that looks like a matchbox, with impersonal white walls, sanitized like a hospital, or even with a kitsch decor that even your grandmother would have found from another age... It won't be much fun, no.

However, if you opt for holiday rentals, feel free to treat yourself to a few nights in a beautiful Haussmann-style apartment in Paris or a villa with swimming pool in Marseille. Something to make you feel at home with and get your feet on the ground right away!

Flexibility

Another recurring problem at the hotel: the schedules to be respected... For example, you'll have to find the strength to get up early to be able to have breakfast like everyone else before 10am. If you come in mouthfuls of joy and explain that you celebrated your favourite team's victory the day before and "forgot to set the alarm", don't expect to get the staff excited. You'll be left with nothing but croissant crumbs, and maybe a few slices of bread if you're lucky. The service at the hotel is on time and after the hour it's off the clock.

Same problem with the check-out. Usually it's noon in all hotels. If you don't show up at the reception desk on time to pack your luggage, expect the receptionist to phone your room every 15 minutes or the maid to come and ring regularly. And so much for your headache from the drunken night out.

Of course, it is possible to make a late check-out, but a supplement will be required. So much for your wallet.

On the other hand, if you rent accommodation, you can have breakfast whenever you want and even get up late, just like on a real holiday!
