The Louvre Post Office, built in 1886, was a Republican palace and a postal factory. People used to meet there night and day until 2015 when the place closed its doors to work on its in-depth transformation. Its renovation, orchestrated by Dominique Perrault and La Poste, now offers the public not only the post office, but also a large central patio, stores, restaurants, a 5-star hotel and a rooftop bar... We discover a totally revisited space that wonderfully links Haussmannian and contemporary Paris. It is the history of this emblematic monument of Paris that the book La Poste du Louvre, urban revolution, proposes to the readers and the passionate persons of architecture to discover.
