Since March 17, the French have been living in confinement to fight the raging coronavirus pandemic. Staying at home can save lives, so it is essential to respect government instructions! The perception of time has been reshaped and the daily routine has been disrupted, especially if you have to take care of children at home! Juggling telecommuting and colouring is not always easy, so to help you during this period here are ten activities to do with your children at home

Revise your geography thanks to the game of capitals

An activity for young and old alike! All you have to do is find the name of the capital of the country drawn at random. Simple and effective, this game is not as simple as that! Do you know the capital of Australia? No, it's not Sydney, it's Canberra! What about Bolivia? Well there are two: La Paz is the administrative capital and Sucre the constitutional capital!

Making clay or salt dough

Great classic of rainy afternoons, a play dough or salt dough activity will delight your children! To arouse the curiosity of little travellers, why not offer them to reproduce the great monuments of the world? Eiffel Tower, Coliseum or Statue of Liberty, make way for artists! This is also the opportunity to plan your next trips to see all these must-see buildings

Getting involved

During this period of confinement, you will certainly have more time to concoct good meals. Why not get your darlings involved by teaching them your favourite recipes? Some preparations can be fun, such as the famous pancakes or, for a little more escape, American-style cookies. And what pride you take in tasting your own cookies at snack time!

Exercise yourself online

In times of confinement, it is difficult to do sports with your children when you live in an apartment without a garden at your disposal. However, there are very good online courses on different platforms that offer gym or dance lessons to the youngest ones. A convivial moment that will also allow you to stretch your legs while staying at home. But be careful not to disturb the neighbours downstairs too much!

Camping at home

There's nothing better than building a hut so that your children can escape from their everyday life in the house! In a corner of your living room, with two chairs, sheets, cushions and a bit of ingenuity, you can build a real Indian tepee! Comfortably installed, your cherubs can then spend the night in a tent while waiting to go camping again! An anti-routine tip!

Rediscover Origami

For the moment, there's no question of taking a plane or a boat. But to make your little travelers wait, organize an origami workshop to make paper airplanes or boats! This fun, easy-to-do activity will allow you to immerse yourself in childhood while having fun with your children. And if you forgot the folding rules, don't panic, patterns are available on the internet!

Discover a foreign language

Why not use this time to teach your child the basics of a foreign language? We don't start with grammar, but rather with vocabulary, which is more entertaining. So have fun building a primer in a language you speak with your child. These words can be reused on a daily basis, thus accustoming your children to hearing sounds other than those of their mother tongue. Enjoy!

Make a mime game

For a little silence, propose a mime game! During a long afternoon, challenge your children to mime countries or monuments around the world. They'll have to be inventive to take up the challenge and above all get information if they don't know the buildings they've chosen. A good way to study while having fun. How would you like the Eiffel Tower or the gondolas in Venice?

Gather your travel memoriesIn

the meantime, while you're waiting to fly away to new horizons, offer your children the opportunity to view your old travel photos. After choosing your favourites and collecting a few souvenirs here and there (train tickets, entrance tickets...), set up a scrapbooking activity. On a pretty notebook, paste your photographs and decorate the pages to highlight them. A beautiful object to keep or to give as a gift!

Escape through readingIf

your children already know how to read, offer them a selection of the great classics of children's literature, to be read and reread without moderation: Les Malheurs de Sophie by the Comtesse de Ségur and Fifi Brindacier by Astrid Lindgren should keep them busy for a while! For the little ones, give yourself a moment's break to read them a story. Reading will allow them to relax and escape from the daily routine
