6-day tour: Gorillas, Golden Monkeys and Lake Kivu in Rwanda

Depending on your arrival time at the airport, our English/French-speaking driver-guide will pick you up. Next, you'll go on a city tour of Kigali, where you'll have the opportunity to explore and visit different sites in the city such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kigali's largest local market called Kimironko, Nyamirambo where the capital of Kigali is located, and many other sites of interest to travelers. Afterwards, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will choose the best restaurant in town for lunch. After enjoying lunch, you'll drive to your reserved hotel, where you can check in for dinner and overnight.

You'll wake up in the morning, have breakfast and then our driver-guide will pick you up to take you to Rwanda's Northern Province, home to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival, you'll check into your reserved lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early in the morning, after breakfast and with lunch to spare, our driver-guide will pick you up from your lodge and take you to the park headquarters for a briefing on how to behave in the presence of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Then you'll begin your trek to see the gorillas. After this unforgettable gorilla experience, the driver-guide will take you back to your lodge for a hot lunch. Next, you'll visit the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo with the driver-guide. After this beautiful lakeside experience, he'll take you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

In the morning, after breakfast, your Lion Safaris driver-guide will pick you up and take you to the park office for golden monkey registration and a briefing on how to behave with golden monkeys in their natural habitat. On arrival at the starting point of the walk, you'll hike through the bamboo forest with a local guide to the golden monkeys, where you'll be able to take plenty of photos. After this special moment, you'll return to the meeting point where the driver-guide will take you to one of Musanze's best restaurants for lunch. After lunch, you'll head for Lake Kivu and check into your reserved lodge for dinner and overnight.

You'll wake up in the morning, have a late breakfast, then our Lion Safaris driver-guide will pick you up and take you to Lake Kivu, where the boat trip begins. You'll have the chance to explore the lake, visit the bubbling thermal waters, observe birds, fishermen, the lake's various islands and other sites. After this incredible moment, the driver-guide will choose the best restaurant in Gisenyi/Rubavu for lunch. After lunch, you'll return to your hotel for a relaxing evening and overnight. If you wish to continue swimming, the driver-guide will suggest the safest place to swim, then you will be taken to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

You'll wake up in the morning and have breakfast. You will then check out and be picked up by our driver-guide. You'll head back to Rwanda's capital, Kigali, where, depending on your flight time, you'll be dropped off at the airport or at your hotel/home.
