Detail of the stay : 9 jours Masai Mara-L Nakuru-Amboseli-Amboseli-Saltlick-Tsavo East - 9 days

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara

Welcome at the airport and drive to Masai Mara with a stop at the Rift Valley Viewpoint, from where you can see the spectacular Rift Valley stretching from Lebanon to Mozambique over a distance of more than 7,000 km. Continue on to Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. Arrival on time for lunch. Check-in and free lunch before setting off on an evening game drive.

Day 2: Exploring the Masai Mara

Early breakfast and preparation for a full-day safari. The Mara was established in 1948 as a wildlife sanctuary, then converted to a game reserve in 1961. The Mara is mainly open, flat grassland with long but fine grass, dotted with acacia trees. The western edge of the Mara is formed by a geological fault that raises the Esoit escarpment. Three main rivers drain the region: the Sand, the Talek and the Mara. It is at the crossroads of these rivers that most of the famous images of the Great Migration can be seen. Picnic lunch in the reserve and continuation of the safari in search of animals, including the "Big 5": lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and black rhino. Wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, topi, eland, impala, giraffe, hippopotamus,

crocodiles, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, foxes, vultures, storks, cranes, ostriches, eagles, etc.

Day 3: Explore the Masai Mara.

Enjoy an early morning safari in search of wild animals. Most carnivorous animals hunt early in the morning, before the heat of the day, so you're more likely to see them hunting then. Return to the lodge mid-morning for breakfast and relax before lunch. In the late afternoon, you'll head out on safari in search of the animals you didn't see in the morning.

Day 4: Masai Mara - Parc du lac Nakuru

Leaving the Maasai Mara after breakfast, you'll cross Kenya's "breadbasket", where acres of wheat and barley litter the landscape as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters for this part of Maasai land. Then cross the vast plains of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle as you make your way up the Mau escarpment, before arriving at Lake Nakuru. The waters of this lake are often colored a shimmering flamingo pink, due to the thousands of birds that line its shores. After lunch at Ziwa Bush Lodge, you'll head off on a game drive in Nakuru National Park before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lac Nakuru - Parc Amboseli

Early breakfast before setting off by road to Amboseli National Park, famous for its breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro. The park is also home to over 420 species of birds, a huge population of elephants and other big game attracted by the underground springs fed by the melting snow of Kilimanjaro.

Lunch at the lodge before setting off on your afternoon safari.

Day 6: Explorer Amboseli

Wake up early for a good view of Kilimanjaro before the clouds roll in over the summit. Then it's off on safari. Amboseli is an excellent place to observe a multitude of wild animals, from wildebeest to giraffes and baboons. After returning to the lodge, you'll have breakfast and enjoy the lodge's facilities, such as the sun-warmed pool. You'll have lunch at the lodge at midday and a restful afternoon before setting off on another safari.

Amboseli is home to the legendary Masai tribes. These warriors are a famous and proud nomadic tribe whose legendary fighting prowess and solo acts of bravery in combat with wild animals are known the world over.

Day 7: Amboseli - Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

After breakfast and check-out, you drive to the Taita Hills wildlife sanctuary. Arrive in time for lunch at Salt Lick Safari Lodge, one of Kenya's flagship lodges, famous for being one of the most photographed lodges in the world. The park is more arid than Tsavo West, with dry bushes and rocky outcrops, such as the 1.6 km-long Mudanda Rock. The spectacular Yatta Plateau, some 290 km long, pours its lava flows into the park. A series of rapids, known as Lugards Falls on the Galana River, meander through the park. The Athi River, which rises in Nairobi, flows through the park. After lunch, the afternoon is devoted to a safari in search of wild animals such as buffalo, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, water pigs, lesser kudu, gerenuk antelope and hirola.
