Day 1: Zanzibar to Selous - Game viewing and sunset boat safari
In the morning, you'll start your Zanzibar safari by taking a light aircraft to Selous, one of Africa's most important game reserves. One of Africa's most important game reserves. On arrival at the Mtemere airstrip, you'll be met by our driver-guide, who will welcome you and explain the program of your excursion.
Safaris are the best way to discover other giant animals, including predators. What's more, the Selous is home to Africa's largest population of wild dogs, making it a real highlight if you're lucky enough to encounter a pack.
You'll start safaris with picnic lunches until the afternoon; you'll return to camp and relax for an hour, then set off on an afternoon boat safari. The afternoon boat safari is superb. You'll see wild animals drinking at the water's edge and get up close to colonies of birds, hippos and crocodiles. Finally, you'll return to camp and relax around the fire, before dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of Selous' main game viewing area.
Day 2: Selous enroute Game drive – Departure to Zanzibar
After breakfast, you'll pack your bags and leave the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar. You'll bid farewell to Selous and enjoy a game drive en route to the airstrip.
