Stay : Climbing Yala Peak

Yala Peak is a magnificent mountain in Nepal's Langtang region, situated at an altitude of 5,500 m. Yala Peak Climbing is a non-technical summit and perfect for beginners. However, a basic idea of mountaineering is required. According to the Nepal Mountaineering Association, Yala Peak is classified as a simple trekking peak. Climbing consists of simple scrambling on a 25-degree slope, 180 m of snow climbing on a 35-40-degree slope and 650 m of summit day climbing.

The base camp of Yala Peak lies at an altitude of 4,500 m, from where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung, Lenpo Gang, Dorje Lakpa and the great Shishapangma on the Tibetan side. Yala Peak is under the protection of Langtang National Park, where you can observe rare flora and fauna. Rare animals such as the snow leopard, the red panda, the Himalayan Tahr, etc.

Detail of the stay : Climbing Yala Peak - 10 days

Day 1: Kathmandu - Shyabrubesi (7-8 hours drive)

You travel from Kathmandu to Shyabrubesi by car, which takes around 7 to 8 hours.

Day 2: Shyabrubesi - Hotel Lama (5-6 hours' walk)

You start your trek by walking from Shyabrubesi to Hotel Lama, a 5-6 hour hike.

Day 3: Hotel Lama - Langtang village (6-7 hours' walk)

You continue your trek to the village of Langtang, which takes around 6 to 7 hours.

Day 4: Langtang village - Kyanjin Gompa (2-3 hour walk)

You walk from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa, a short 2-3 hour stage.

Day 5: Kyanjin Gompa - Yala Peak base camp (5-6 hours' walk)

You hike to the base camp of Yala Peak, which takes around 5 to 6 hours.

Day 6: Yala Peak base camp - Climb the peak, return to base camp (7-8 hours' walk)

You climb Yala Peak from base camp, then return to base camp for a 7-8 hour day's trek.

Day 7: Base camp - Kyanjin Gompa (5-6 hours' walk)

You descend to the village of Kyanjin Gompa, a 5-6 hour walk.

Day 8: Kyanjin Gompa - Hotel Lama (6-7 hours' walk)

You return to Hotel Lama from Kyanjin Gompa, which takes around 6-7 hours.

Day 9: Hotel Lama - Shyabrubesi (5-6 hours' walk)

You continue your descent to Shyabrubesi, walking for around 5-6 hours.

Day 10: Shyabrubesi - Kathmandu (7-8 hours drive)

Finally, your journey ends with a 7-8 hour drive from Shyabrubesi to Kathmandu.
