Stay : Island Peak Climbing

Climbing Island Peak involves a walk through the spectacular Khumbu Valley, passing charming towns, pretty valleys and breathtaking views. The trip concludes with an ascent of Island Peak, which calls for some fundamental mountaineering skills such as the use of crampons and ice axes, as well as a familiarity with rope climbing methods.â

Climbing to the top of the island is technically difficult and risky, especially from base camp. Island Peak's low base camp lies at an altitude of 5,087 m and the high camp at 5,600 m. Mountain sickness is more likely to occur from the base camp. Steep snow, frozen glaciers and icy slopes largely cover the trail to the summit. Good physical and mental fitness, as well as the necessary skills to use mountaineering equipment, are very important.
