Detail of the stay : 06 DAYS KILIMANJARO MOUNTAIN TREKKING VIA MARANGU ROUTE - 6 days

Day 1: DAY 01: ARUSHA TO MARANGU GATE TO MANDARA HUT

Embark on your Kilimanjaro adventure from Arusha (800m / 2,625ft), a lively town situated at the base of the mountain. The first day involves a trek of approximately 8.2km (5.1 miles) through the enchanting Rainforest zone. The trail winds through dense foliage, accompanied by the sounds of birds and rustling leaves. As you gain elevation, the air becomes cooler and crisper. After 4-6 hours of trekking, you'll arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700m / 8,858ft), a rustic shelter surrounded by lush vegetation, where you'll spend your first night. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

Day 2: DAY 02: MANDARA HUT TO HOROMBO HUT

As the sun rises, set off on a 12.5km (7.8 miles) journey from Mandara Hut. The path leads you through the Moorland zone, characterized by heather and moor grass. The vegetation becomes sparser, revealing breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscapes. The trek takes around 5-7 hours, and you'll cross a significant altitude gain. Upon reaching Horombo Hut (3,720m / 12,205ft), settle in for an evening of acclimatization and relaxation, with the magnificent sight of Mawenzi Peak towering above. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

Day 3: DAY 03: ACCLIMATIZATION DAY

Today is an acclimatization day at Horombo Hut. Take advantage of the opportunity to adjust to the higher altitude. A short hike to Zebra Rocks (3,980m / 13,058ft) is a popular choice, not only providing stunning views but also aiding your body's adaptation to the altitude. This rest day is crucial for your overall summit success. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

Day 4: DAY 04: HOROMBO HUT TO KIBO HUT

The trail ascends further as you cover about 9.5km (5.9 miles) from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (4,703m / 15,430ft). The terrain transitions to the Alpine Desert zone, characterized by rocky landscapes and sparse vegetation. The trek takes around 5-7 hours, and the thinning air becomes more noticeable as you approach Kibo Hut. Rest, eat well, and prepare for the challenging summit night ahead. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

Day 5: DAY 05: KIBO HUT, SUMMIT TO HOROMBO HUT

Summit day begins under the starlit sky around midnight. You'll tackle the challenging 5.4km (3.4 miles) ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m / 19,341ft) in the Glacial Zone. The terrain is steep and demanding, requiring your determination and endurance. The ascent takes approximately 6-8 hours, with the reward of witnessing the sunrise from the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend back to Kibo Hut, then continue further down to Horombo Hut, covering a total of around 12-14 hours of trekking. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

Day 6: DAY 06: HOROMBO HUT TO MARANGU GATE TO ARUSHA

On your final day, descend about 20.8km (12.9 miles) through the Rainforest zone. The surroundings become increasingly familiar as you make your way back to Marangu Gate (1,860m / 6,102ft). The trek takes around 5-7 hours, allowing you to reflect on the incredible journey you've undertaken. Upon reaching the gate, collect your well-earned summit certificate, marking the successful completion of your Kilimanjaro climb. From there, you will be transferred back to Gold Crest Hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Bed, and Breakfast Included.
