Located in the town of Hotat Bani Tamim, around 180 km south of Riyadh, in a small village called Al-Helwah. Set in the magnificent Tuwaiq escarpment in the middle of Saudi Arabia, it covers an area of 2,369 km². The steep-sided wadis are ideal for ibex and provide a habitat for other wildlife such as rock hyrax, wildcats, mongooses and eagles.

Day 1: End-of-year visit to the Ibex reserve - 22-12-2023
Itinerary:
6:30 am, departure by minibus from Haya Tour, about 180 km south of Riyadh.
9:30 am, stop at Wthylan National Park, breakfast and walk in the valley among the perennial acacias.
12:00 pm: continue to our destination (the national ibex reserve).
1:00 pm: arrival at the ibex reserve visitor center in Hotat Bani Tamim.
Get information about the National Center for Wildlife Organization and the Ibex Reserve.
Guided walking tour of the valley where we hope to have a good chance of seeing wildlife and ibex.
Dinner at sunset, prepared by the local community.
18:00 Return by car, with an estimated arrival time in Riyadh of 21:00.
