Born in the Caribbean and arrived in France at the age of 23, it was in Mulhouse that Mary the Antillean learned to play African and Latin American percussion. For over 50 years, Yamaha has been developing music teaching methods adapted to young children, teenagers and adults. The courses are offered through Yamaha Music Schools, a network currently boasting over 6,000 locations worldwide. Inaugurated in September 2015 and directed by Jean-Michel Durand, the Yamaha Music School in Colmar is the only one of its kind in the Grand Est region. It offers "Junior Music Courses" for children (aged 3 to 12), taking into account their physiological and emotional development, "Popular Courses" for adults and teenagers, not forgetting play-based group lessons. Group and individual lessons (voice, guitar, piano and keyboard arranger) are provided by a team of teachers selected by audition and trained according to the YMS method. In addition to courses, the school offers regular workshops and organizes an end-of-year concert. So many ways to learn to sing or master a musical instrument at your own pace, while having fun!

The Institut Musical de Haute Alsace offers music lessons in Oltingue. They offer progressive accordion training, adapted to the pace of each student. The institute has also recently obtained the state diploma in instrumental teaching, with an option in accordion. The institute has also announced some new features for the start of the 2019/2020 school year, including the possibility of a trial period at any time of the year.
