The center offers information on the region's road and snow conditions. It is located close to Namadgi National Park, which was declared a national park in 1984 and covers an area of 106,095 hectares. The park is managed in cooperation with the ACT government by the Ngunnawal aboriginal people, who have a formal association with the land. The park is rich in Aboriginal archaeological sites, with over 200 recorded. It is also home to a great diversity of flora and fauna, including rare, threatened and endangered species. The park also offers camping and hiking opportunities. The Namadgi Information Centre is an ideal starting point for exploring this area rich in history and nature.
