Harvest

In September, grape grains were sunk and then began harvesting by white grape varieties. The vine and wine accompany the inhabitants of Corbières and Minervois since the establishment of strains, the time of the Romans and a flourishing trade between the port of Narbonne and Rome. The great wine development occurs in the middle of the xixth century, breaking with more diversified and autarchic production.

If mechanization has removed from the penibility at work, many winemakers continue to harvest by hand. The còlha is the harvest and harvesting group. There are cutters and cutters, and the mossenha (in French) is responsible for giving the tempo. For several weeks the small tractors go and come between vineyards and cellars, on roads and paths…

This intense period ends with the Dius-ac-vòl, the famous early wine festivals, the most important of which is held in Lézignan-Corbières on the third Thursday of October, please note on the agenda.
