The Erau Festival in Tenggarong, Kalimantan, is a dazzling spectacle of culture and history. Celebrated annually in June, this festival is a heritage of the Sultanate of Kutai Kartanegara, dating back to the 13thcentury . It fuses traditional ceremonies, arts, sports and gastronomy in an exuberant atmosphere. The "Berlimbur" ritual, where residents sprinkle water on themselves to symbolize purification, is a highlight. Attracting participants from various regions and countries, each edition offers a new theme, making each festival unique.
