TADAU KAAMATAN

The festival celebrates the end of the harvest in Sabah State. It is followed by members of the Kadazan-Dusun ethnic group. Men and women wear their most beautiful traditional costumes and participate in many events. Beauty contests, strength contests, singing contests, are among the many folklore activities that perpetuate the community's traditions. The festival takes place under the aegis of a priestess called Bobohizan. It ensures that the ceremonies run smoothly and sets the date of the public holiday that closes the festival.
